Digicel PNG Foundation launched its Annual Community Grants Programme to support local organisations with providing solutions to issues through community grants of up to K50,000. This programme aligns with the Foundation’s key focus areas of improving health, education, social inclusion, sustainable livelihood and safety in local communities. The Digicel Foundation introduced the Community Grants Programme in 2019 and it is now valued at K1 million.
Serena Sasingian, Digicel PNG Foundation CEO, discussed the impact of the grants. Sasingian stated, “From the overwhelming number of applications we receive every year since the programme started, we know there is a real need to support local community organisations to address local problems. We will continue this programme, working together with our partner organisations to address some of the most pressing needs for our rural and remote areas in the country.”
