In the spirit of National Children’s Day, Loop Little Writers sat down with Denis O’Brien, Chairman and Digicel Foundation Founder & Patron. Little Writers, Amanda and Jordan, spoke with Denis about his work with the foundation.
Jordan questioned Denis on his favourite project in Jamaica. Denis emphasised that while every project is important, he holds a particular fondness towards assisting the special needs community as he has been involved with similar work with the Special Olympics for over 25 years.
The Little Writers also touched on the subject of technology transformation and Denis’ vision for the Digicel and the Digicel Jamaica Foundation’s future. Denis said, “I’d love to see every school be transformed from a digital point of view, where children of your age would be taught how to code… The digital area will be very important in terms of training but also to move Jamaica forward and in terms of job opportunities.”
