Digicel Trinidad and Tobago Foundation’s EPIC Programme Aids Rio Claro Community Development

Leaders from Digicel and Rio Claro come together to unveil the project’s completion
Rio Claro has been able to make several improvements to its community thanks to the Digicel Trinidad and Tobago Foundation’s EPIC (Extraordinary Projects Impacting Communities) programme. The Rio Claro community received a TT$35,000 grant through a collaboration with the Rio Claro Lion’s Club, Vedant Enterprises, and the Digicel Foundation. This grant allowed for the purchase of exercise equipment, landscaping and the refurbishment of basketball courts for the Rio Claro recreational grounds.
The Digicel Foundation commended Rio Claro’s perseverance to complete upgrades and installations despite challenges presented by the pandemic. These improvements benefit Rio Claro residents while also making steps toward sustainable community development. Digicel Foundation Operations Manager Cindyann Currency added to this sentiment stating, “Community, Volunteerism and Partnerships are the foundation of all EPIC initiatives and are important for sustainable development.” On behalf of the Digicel Foundation, Currency went on to congratulate those who tirelessly worked to complete the project.
