Digicel Jamaica Foundation Wins Social Contribution Award

On 5 November 2020, Digicel Jamaica Foundation won the Social Contribution Award at the first remotely-hosted World Communication Awards (WCA). This coveted award is given to organisations displaying a willingness to invest in and give back to in-need communities. It’s an exciting and humbling recognition that speaks to the dedication of the people of the Digicel Foundation.

In addition to the Social Contribution Award in Jamaica, Digicel Papua New Guinea Foundation’s Men of Honour campaign was also shortlisted for the award for addressing the gender-based violence issue in Papua New Guinea. Digicel Haiti was shortlisted for Best Operator in an Emerging Market, an award Digicel Papua New Guinea won in 2019.

Digicel Group Caribbean and Central America CEO Oliver Coughlan said, “Giving back is an important part of who we are as a company, we like to say that it’s part of the Digicel DNA. So getting two of our Foundation projects shortlisted for the World Communication Awards’ Social
