The Digicel Jamaica Foundation offers continued support to the Coding in Schools Programme which aims to close the gap in STEM education and enhance students’ digital literacy. As patron of the Digicel Jamaica Foundation, Denis O’Brien presented the Amber Group with a J$28 million donation on behalf of the foundation.
Both the Foundation and Digicel Jamaica are proud to support STEM education and recognise the growing need for computer literacy. Digicel believes in creating a world where no one gets left behind, especially as the digital divide continues to widen. Projects like the Coding in Schools Programme give the next generation the education and resources to further their future careers. In support of this, Digicel Jamaica will offer 20 paid internships to the country’s top Grade 13 students from this programme.
