Digicel Guyana commissioned a 426 foot mobile service tower on the Kabakaburi Mission for residents along the Upper Pomeroon River, particularly in the villages of St Monica, Karawab, Akawini, Siriki, Abrams Creek and Jacklow. Before the tower, locals were communication starved and relied on radio sets and satellite phones as their means of communication. In some circumstances, people would even travel to Charity waterfront to make a call. By commissioning this state-of-the-art mobile tower, residents along the Upper Pomeroon River will now have access to a better Digicel signal which will boost communication within the community and to the rest of the world.
